Every week I’ll try to feature a typical (but reinvented according to my taste!) breakfast from a different part of the world.

Since Belgium is the place where I live now (or, at least, for another few weeks), it’ll be also the first edition.

Waffle with cinnamon baked apple

Actually, in Belgium they don’t eat waffles (or gaufres in french) as breakfast, but they are too good to pass up!

  1. Tell me, can we make waffles from scratch? In India, I don’t think anyone has any idea about what a waffle is.. Also, how exactly do you bake cinnamon apples? Would like to try them someday..

    • Yes, you can with a waffle iron, otherwise I have no idea =)

      It’s really really simple: diced apple, cinnamon on it, microwaved for 5-6 minutes. That’s it

  2. so basically you’re just reading the ingredients of random things that have a vague origin and you’re mixing them into something completely different you might like ? 🙂

  3. I would love to make these. We had these street waffles in Brussels last year. The recipe calls for pearl sugar which I can’t find where I am. Do you know an alternative? Thx.
